Table properties

The Property inspector displays the following properties when a table is selected. To select a table, click its border.

See also Tables overview.

The Property inspector initially displays the most commonly used properties. Click the expander arrow in the lower right corner to see all properties.

Rows and Columns determine the number of rows and columns in the table. Dreamweaver adds and removes rows from the bottom of the table, and adds and removes columns to the left. Dreamweaver does not warn you if you are deleting rows and columns that contain data.

Width is the width of the table, specified as a percentage of the page width or as an absolute value in pixels.

Border sets the width of the border around the table in pixels. Most browsers display the border as a three-dimensional line. If you are using the table for page layout, specify a border value of 0.

Align aligns the table to the browser's default, left, or right. To center a table, select the table and choose Text > Alignment > Center.

Cell Space is the amount of space between a table's cells.

Cell Pad is the amount of space between a cell's contents and its edges.

V Space and H Space add space in pixels around the top and bottom, and left and right of the table, respectively.

Color options let you set the border and background colors for the entire table. In addition, the light and dark border options have a highlight and shadow effect, respectively, to give a three-dimensional appearance to the border. To reset colors to the default, delete the hex values in the color options.

Clear Table Row Heights and Column Widths deletes all table row height and column width values, respectively, from the table.

Convert Table Widths to Pixels or Percent converts the table width from percentage of page width to its current width in pixels, or converts its current width in pixels to a percentage of the page.
